Hello, ya’ll. ”Long time, no post.” I know. Long story!

Here is a quick one to shot an example of a nice, environmental portrait we did recently for the City of Richardson. They have a specific format (area) to do these and our challenge was to, well, do a bit better than their past service providers. Hopefully we accomplished that task. For a quick shot like this, the photographer is always grateful for some nice ambient light and atmosphere to play off of. in this shot you have both. Great natural window light and plenty of architectural interest for somewhat OOF backgrounds. We really enjoy these type portraits and hope you might find this one interesting, or of a possible use for your company’s next project. Thanks for viewing.

We are going to start posting some of our “recent headshot shoots” over here to the blog. So here is the first of 2012 headshot assignments for us which took place at the DFW Airport Administration Office. We were doing this large group photo, of which both Dallas Mayor (Mike Rawlings) and Fort Worth Mayor (Betsy Price) were part of. Grabbed them for a quick snap here and thought it might be worth sharing.

Howdy, folks.

Well, New Year is here and it is time to hit the ground running. For those in business, these days LinkedIn is the place to be. Thing is, though? There sure a lot of folks who just do not put much thought into their headshot on the LInkedIn website. And, of course as we all know, “first impressions,” etc. So, I’m just sayin.’ We do _tons_ of headshots for LinkedIn, and much, much more. Well? Where did the year go? We have not posted much here lately, just due to time restraints, but next year will be posting more “month-by-month” recent headshots (vs. our web page) and other tidbits, here and there. But for today, I just want to push anyone over the top if they are considering a new professional business headshot for 2012. If you want to be up and running for LinkedIn, Facebook, company archives, printed materials, PR, etc. don’t wait. December is a great time to “get it done.” Think sometime before the 15th. That way when January kicks in, you are already on the ground running. Here are a few from 2011 that we grabbed as quick samples. More, later. Sooner.

Beyond Men’s Headshots

Had the pleasure of shooting Steve W. in my studio this past week. When he walked in I immediately knew he was a candidate for a “more creative” type headshot. So, here we would like to point out a tone we use all the time call “Platinum Tone,” and what we do to make it look good. Platinum tone is a variation on B&W on the “cold” side of the temperature spectrum. It is classy, and classical. We offer it as an “add-on” to a regular session, and use it quite a bit. With Steve here we did a few things. Of course? We’re not going to tell you the recipe to “all our secrets,” but at the end we add heavy grain which completes the Platinum tone to create the feel of a heavy-grained black and white film look. So, just a head’s up (pun intended) to point out that when you walk into a professional headshot photographer‘s studio you should always get the best you deserve. At our local headshot and portrait studio (and on location) we prove day- in -and- day- out that a headshot’s not “just a headshot” but can be much much more.

Casual Business Headshot Portraits

We have had the pleasure this year of shooting headshots for the Hill-Wilkinson Company here in Richardson. This is a great company (voted Best Places To Work) in Dallas by Dallas Business Journal and we can see why. The “top brass” and the “rank and file” were over / above some of the nicest, most professional and fun folks we have worked with this year. We shot close to 100 headshots in 3 sessions, as well as a large group photo for them as well. The most fun about shooting for them is we had 6 a.m. start times. Yikes! Yes. Since these guys need to “get out into the field” we arranged to set up beforehand and start to “move them in and move them out” at 6 a.m. A first for us! Above sample is from a few of the folks that have come by my studio for their headshots vs. the location shoots we have done at their offices. We wanted to post these to show how a professional headshot can look great with a “casual Friday” type look. Whatever the “corporate culture” of a company is, you can count on us to show it off at it’s best. Whether it be doctors, lawyers, real estate agents, money managers, etc. we promise to help you put your “best face forward.”
